We’ve already covered the splurge, the commercial, and now it’s time to talk about the handcrafted. Many designers have set out to do their part in generating awareness and donating their talent to contribute to the cause. What I love about this is that big or small, its great to see people donating their talent towards a cause that needs so much, and spreading awareness and a message of hope to patients and survivors. I found three designers on Etsy that are doing just that, they set out to design special pieces, with their signature style, to donate proceeds to organizations in their communities. The designs are different from the traditional Pink Ribbon, but remain true to the cause.
MamasLittleNugget creates hand stamped jewelry on silver, and inspired by a story of courage, survival, and hope she designed this necklace. Part of the proceeds are going to the Susan G Komen Foundation.
Printed Pallette is showcasing designs by Juneau Luxe, an entire collection of bracelet trios using semi precious stones. The proceeds will go towards the Cancer Angels of San Diego. Each trio features a combination of semiprecious stones with a distinctive look to match different styles. From left to right: the first design combines grey & watermelon quartz, white jade, and amazonite; the second is a trio of black lava rock, hot pink quartz, jasper, and pyrite; and the third combines white turquoise, pink riverstone, magnesite, and agate.
PinkLocket is also using her distinctive designs to help out. Her Pink Glory ring a glass bead and features her traditional metal work for the ring. Proceeds in this case will go towards the Witness Project of Connecticut.
